Monty Burns asked:
I recently saw an ad in the classifieds in my local newspaper for a 1973 Cessna 172 only $5500. Was that too good to be true? It’s not in there anymore so someone must have bought it. What websites can I get prices for a private plane, preferably a cheap Cessna? I’m taking lessons and I just want to see after I’m done with my private pilots license how much a plane would cost.

I am obviously talking about like a commercial jet plane, not a private or charter plane.
Once I was talking a small NW Airlines/Mesaba plane from Memphis to Greenville, MS and it was only me and one other lady!
So, there was a total of 5 people on the plane — 2 passengers, 2 pilots and a flight attendent. It was really weird. Read the rest of this entry
Yaakov asked:
Round trip first class tickets on a commercial airline from Houston, TX, to Phuket, Thailand, cost $13000 and up per person. It sounds like it would be cheaper to charter a private jet! But how much cheaper?
No, not joking. With 3 or 4 people flying together, that comes to more than $50,000 in airfare. It seemed reasonable that I could charter a jet for cheaper. I guess not. :-/

I am looking for information on the cost per hour to operate some of the most common business aircraft: ie. King Air families, Citation families, LearJet families, etc. Looking for bare bones $/hr, not the FAR135 mark up that can be found on a lot of charter website. Thanks
Not asking for airlines, but for General Aviation, k thx
