Totally agree with you on this. I am not happy about it either. The middle working class has always been and always will be the cash cow for the rich. They get richer we get poorer as we lose our jobs to pay for the million dollar bonus checks.
This country is going to pay for its sins and i don’t think Obama is going to make it any better in just 4 years.

offend me, that puts it mildly. If these auto companies are in a financial fix, and I believe they are they need to get rid of their perks @ private jets, massive salaries & kickbacks. Its no wonder they are in a shambles. Out of the 3 ceo’s 1 offered a 1.00 per year salary, 1 offered a 50% salary cut and the 3rd smirked and said no way!! I just wish I remember which 1s they were. I saw it on the news and missed a few minutes of it. I don’t want to see the auto companies go under because of the triple down affect it would have. It wouldn’t just be Detroit in shambles it would hit every city in America with auto dealerships. IMO the ceo that offered to a 1.00 per year salary should be kept, the other 2 fired and new ceo’s installed with a budget plan and a major pay cut. These guys make multi millions a year in salary & perks, give me a break, no one needs that much when their company is going under.
There this to consider which how far the money for the jets would go to fund programs to train citizens in making vaccines.
Disease spreads by infecting one person then to others so wide spread knowledge might stop epidemics.

Sit down. The auto industry will get their bail out and keep the jets too..Obama and the congress Mafia will not spite the UAW. I guarantee they will get the bail out.The big three CEOs flew in laughed at the congress and flew home.
It does seem to indicate a disconnect between how they live and the rest of us.

However, it does persuade me that men so utterly tone deaf cannot possibly turn their respective companies into market leaders. Which means, please do not invest taxpayer money in their businesses.

It is disgusting that these greedy folk are still living in the lap of luxury while ordinary, hardworking people are struggling to keep roofs over their heads. It reminds me of these fat cat bank bosses who were happy to accept billions in taxpayers’ money to save their banks (and their jobs) then they go and reward themselves big bonuses for Christmas.

Not really. GM has plants all over the world and they actually need those jets if company owned. If they flew from D town..ehh, it was bad publicity for them, but every senator there flies private too so they’re being a bit hypocritical too. If they weren’t seeking billions nobody would blink.
Look at Wall St. Those cruds make me want to vomit and nobody even knows where most of that money is going to go or has gone. They have already used quite a bit to buy regional banks to further consolidate power among themselves. How noble of them.
The execs who wouldn’t even agree to a pay cut I have no use for because they could very quickly be replaced and they should know that.
The fact is the auto industry was doing fine prior to the financial meltdown, but you have to know without it we will head straight into depression. We panic when unemployment hits 10%. If GM fails it will hit 15-20% perhaps because of the millions of support workers globally that GM, Ford and Chrysler use. It won’t only be the big 3 going down. You might loose your job too and might not even work in the auto industry.
Suppose you work at a printer..GM uses TONS and TONS of printing. There are restaurants, builders, grocers, the list goes on and on. Everyone nearly will be affected.
If you really want to be offended look to Wall St. Detroit is slow, but not stupid.
